what size of disk did you use ?
which type of partition table did you select?

In principle this disk should boot. But only if you selected ms-dos as partition table. The error seems to come from lack of memory of your device. The standalone kernel runs from ram if you have stored some files in the root file system you will run out of memory. So try to boot the device and see if the firmware is loaded. If thats the case we will format sda8 using the firmware.

So you used a 2TB disk and ms-dos partition
Oke

Now reboot your 2big1 and see if the firmware is loaded an running.
There will be no data partition available as partition sda8 is not formatted. Do not write any files to the nas yet. We first need to format it.
How to format.
Connect via ssh to the nas (for instance by using putty which is a ssh client that can run on windows)
To log in use
Username: root
Password: giveit2me

When logging succeeded give at command prompt this command
Code: Select all
mke2fs -m 1 -j /dev/sda8

This should format the partition. Wait until it is completed.
If no errors reboot your nas
Code: Select all
reboot

After reboot load the web interface of the firmware and check if the free disk size is 2TB

To find your nas on the network you could use the fvdw-sl assitant

https://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1488

It might take some time after powering up your 2big1 before it appears in de assistant. You might have to use the rescan button of the assistant
