I am not sure but I feel the Backend file and 2.2.5 file are available on LaCie support:

I could not figure out the differences between these two products, because some of the files downloaded turned out to be the same (the 1.0.0 patch for 2.0.7 and the patch for 2.2.5 are the same).

May I also ask what are the improvements in 2.2.6 over 2.2.5? I don't see the official website has 2.2.6 at this moment, but has 2.2.8.

To be honest I don't know the anwers to your question as it is the Lacie firmware you are referring to and not ours, fvdw-sl.
My knowledgw about Lacie patches and upgrades is limited.
